Managing sound and video settings during Teams meetings and calls for optimal communication
This fix did not work for me. Now my headset will not connect at all. Wish I had stayed with the original quick fix that was working :(

I have the same question posed in this previous thread, but the solution hasn't worked for me. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msteams/forum/all/double-beep-when-muted-on-teams-aftershokz/d67018d1-7081-4acf-b688-bf947a524058?page=1
In short, no matter how I try to mute my mic, the headset tells me mute is on and double-beeps every few seconds. It happens if I mute the call, mute in call settings, or even if I simply mute in my laptop's sound settings.
Teams does NOT alert me that I'm muted if I use a different headset or no headset -- only using the Aftershokz headset. This is an Aftershokz problem, not a Teams problem, but Aftershokz tech support has been unhelpful. I'm hoping someone here has a workaround.
This problem cropped up last fall, went away, and now is back.

That did not work for me.
I am Win10 ... so this may be a fix for Win11.
I do not have telephony checkbox anywhere.
I also checked what services were running ... tapisrv is stopped
As far as I can tell, tapi is not part of this problem.
Thank you for this work around! Finally that incessant beeping is gone and I am still muted during my team call.
This tip fixed the issue for me:

"The fix is to go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > [Your device] + RMB > Properties > Services > UNTICK Handsfree Telephony"
Did you Quit teams by right-clicking on Teams in the Taskbar and selecting "Quit"? X ing out of all the Teams windows is not enough to get Teams to pick up the new settings.
