Aftershokz headset alerting me that my Teams call is muted

In short, no matter how I try to mute my mic, the headset tells me mute is on and double-beeps every few seconds. It happens if I mute the call, mute in call settings, or even if I simply mute in my laptop's sound settings.

Teams does NOT alert me that I'm muted if I use a different headset or no headset -- only using the Aftershokz headset. This is an Aftershokz problem, not a Teams problem, but Aftershokz tech support has been unhelpful. I'm hoping someone here has a workaround.

This problem cropped up last fall, went away, and now is back.

    I am also using Aftershockz and the problem appears to be with a recent update to the Teams desktop software as this wasn't always the case until recently. I would like to know if anyone else gets this fixed or will we have to wait for a software update?

    Using Aftershockz Opencomm, and having the same issue. Definitely teams is hardware muting the headset. The work around for the beeping i currently have is open the mic settings through the sounds control panel and unmute your headset. Teams should stay muted but you wont get the beeping since the hardware mute is off.

    I've also started using my laptop's mic rather than the AfterShokz mic. It's an OK workaround, but it doesn't change the fact that this is a really annoying Teams bug that they should fix.

    As a work around for this, I select in Teams Device Settings, Microphone drop down menu, "USB Audio Device" instead of the AfterShokz device. I am able to mute now without hearing the tones.

    I did as you suggested and contacted Teams support. No reply almost two weeks later. Suggestions on expediting a solution to this Teams problem?
