Low resolution of logitech meetup camera in Microsoft Teams

Hi everyone.

I have an issue with our Logitech Meetup conference camera. If i look at the image via the Windows 10 camera app, the image quality is very good (1080p) .

But when working in Microsoft Teams, or Skype for consumer, the image is blurry, with jagged edges that indicate that the resolution is very low. If, for comparison i try to reproduce the same image quality in the Windows 10 camera app (there i can choose the resolution manually, i have to reduce the quality to 360p).

Our bandwidth is 300mbps down/30mpbps up so that should not be the problem.

I first thought that it had to do with the performance of our conference PC.

But the strange thing is that in Google Hangout or Zoom, i don't have this problem, there the image quality is just fine/as expected.

Also when i connect my Surface Book to the Logitech Meetup, i have the same bad quality in Teams, but when i switch to the internal camera of the Surface Book, image quality is perfect...

In skype for consumer I have the same issue as in Teams, so i think that it has to do with the way Microsoft addresses the camera.

Firmware of the Meetup is on the latest version (i installed it to improve the automatic centering on the audience aka RightSight) but I am not sure if i have used the Meetup camera in Teams with the old firmware) , all latest windows and teams updates are installed.

Any clues ? Thanks for your insights.

    Dear Juan Pedro.

    Thank you for your answer.

Yes, it is properly configured. It works fine, just in Teams i have a bad resolution. No problems in other software.

In the meantime i tried with two other Windows pc's. There I experience the same problem.

Then I tried with an iMac, and here i have a very good quality in the OSx version of Microsoft Teams. So it seems to be a problem between the Windows 10 version of Teams and the Logitech Meetup camera. I have submitted also a support case at Logitech.

    Thanks Piet

Probably, you will need to use the controllers/drivers from Logitech. I have had some cases with other users that at the moment of installing third party software or the drivers of the camera being used, the quality increases.

Unfortunately there are no drivers from Logitech available. It is installed plug & play, using the driver built in windows.

In the meantime I have also seen that if i use the webbrowser version of Teams in the Edge browser, i don't have this problem, i use this now as workaround.

I must be a problem in the Windows Teams client....

You could try checking with Logitech if they have drivers available for your camera, just to see if this resolved the problem.

    Juan Pedro.
