Audio output through bluetooth not working in teams app android

I  am  using Teams  app  android  to  attend  my online classes  but I am facing issues  with bluetooth speaker. I wanted  to  use  Nest  mini  for  audio  output so  I   paired  to  it through bluetooth  on  my android device and  audio  output of  all  the  apps  work  except teams. This  issue  seems  to  be  only  on  android  app  because on  the  desktop app on  windows 10 the  same  speaker  works  absolutely fine. In  the  android app  when  I  try  to  switch  the  audio  output to  bluetooth, within  a  second it  switches  back  to  device  audio. I  tried on another android device as  well  but no luck. I  am  running the  latest  teams  version  (as  no  updates  available in  Play  store). Any  help  is  welcome.

    O

I had the same issue on Android but managed to fix it by changing my app settings to allow it to "connect to a nearby device"

Glad I found this thread. Looking at the App permissions I did not have Nearby Devices enabled.

I nixed all my app data and restarted, and noticed it said this on restart and resync with my Corporate profile:

"Android requires nearby devices access to connect to your Bluetooth headset"

I'm anticipating it will work now I've granted this.

I've been struggling with this problem for a while until I finally found a solution that worked for me. Hope it helps other people here too.

Go to Settings -> Apps -> Teams -> Permissions -> Allow access to "Nearby devices"

After that restart Teams app and you should get the option of choosing Bluetooth device for audio output during a call.

    Thank you. This worked!

I am having the same issue.

    Android 13, Work Profile, Pixel.

    • Teams opens with Bluetooth audio connected and it will not work.
    • Disconnect and reconnect Bluetooth, and it will work.

Close Teams, and you will have the same issue all over again

I am having this issue too. Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 4 XL

I have 4 devices and one 1 works

Bose QuietComfort 35 II - Works no issues

Jabra Evolve 65e - Only works if I turn on device AFTER I start the meeting - all other meetings after it works till i turn headset off

Google Pixel Buds 2 - Same as Jabra

Polestar 2 in car audio - Same as Jabra

I have tried deleting the paired devices and pairing again, reinstalling Teams, trying Teams on another phone, clearing cache

    Good for you.
