Hello,

My in built microphone on my laptop works well with other  and is good on the voice recorder but I cannot take part in audio conversations on Teams because others in the conversation cannot hear me. I have tried settings on Teams and on my laptop control panel but haven't been able to fix the problem. Can anyone help?

Thank you in advance.

Reducing background noise in Microsoft Teams meetings

MC224751, Stay Informed, Published date: Oct 21, 2020

    New feature, User impact

Users with the Microsoft Teams desktop app for Windows will soon see three levels of noise suppression designed to reduce distraction due to noise during meetings.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 68694.

    When this will happen

We will gradually release this in mid-November and expect to complete the rollout in mid-December.

How this will affect your organization

Users can set the noise suppression level before a meeting. Once changed, the setting applies to the next call.

The four settings are Auto (default), Low, High, and Off.

They are accessible from the profile image > Settings prior to a meeting and from More options

    ...

    > Device settings during a meeting.

I received this a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully it will resolve this issue.

Same issue, works flawlessly on skype and not on teams.

Also the same bluetooth headset if used on phone has the same issue and there too only on teams.

Plus there is no option to boost the microphone like in skype.

I noticed some of the people who replied have a Dell Laptop. I've seen this issue on a Dell Latitude 3410 and it seems to be a common issue for Latitude 3410 and 3510. Dell release a new Audio driver today, Oct. 29. I didn't get a chance to try it, but in case it can help anyone who is following this thread, check for driver update, hopefully the new one fixes this issue.

Yup agree, after testing setting gain levels many, many times I came to the same conclusion, the levels I select are ignored/adjusted without my intervention. My other apps work fine with all my mics...

    Dear George,

The moment i make a test call it works fine. That is the only way for me to use my microphone.

I start a test call and mute it so other people can hear me trough other applications.

If i don't start a testcall my microphone volume plummets down to 1% and no other way to change it.

Please respond, this has been know since march now and people still have problems with it.

    Regards,

    Dennis
