team mysterious ringing

the last week or so I get a random (i don't see a reason/activity for it when it happens) ringing in my headset...like a phone call ringtone, but there is no activity  on Teams.  No one is calling me or messaging me, there is not an upcoming meeting scheduled.

My IT support team thought it was something wrong/setting on my Jabra Evolve headset,   but I tried turning off a ringtone setting in the headset's settings, but yet, I still get this same mystery ringing still

any ideas what could be causing this ?

    >> Does anyone have any ideas how to stop this behavior when switching to the communication profile?

Yes, see my post above, regarding the workaround (pressing on your headphone to hang-up/stop button works always, other alternatives also are mentioned).

On the other hand, i was looking for a script (VBS or powershell) to emply the windows built-in player song under reproduction or alternatively to play a different tone (silent one) to workaround this issue programatically, but I cannot find programatically which player is this one. It is certainly not WMP, and apparently not the VBS ones although I didn't have enough time to check it thorughly.

I haven't seen any note about how to stop the behavior, only how mention to stop playing once it starts. I don't see any reason that once my headset changes to voice calling why it should start playing any pending media. That makes no sense, and I think very related to the issue since I can see the ring media file sometimes in an play/pause state.

I would have thought that "Do Nothing" on the communications tab would have been the trick, but that seems to only mention adjusting volume. Something else is still triggering the system to start playing files once the profile switches.

It seems I have success with disabling the AutoPlay setting in Windows:

    UPDATE:

I thought this worked and it seemed it did, but now I can say it didn't change a thing unfortunally.

This seems to be exactly what I was trying to find. Thanks! I will disable autoplay and I'll bet that will work!

I bought new wireless headphones and plugged them in for the first time today. I now experience the phantom constant ringing --- was a solution ever revealed for this from MS???
