team mysterious ringing

the last week or so I get a random (i don't see a reason/activity for it when it happens) ringing in my headset...like a phone call ringtone, but there is no activity  on Teams.  No one is calling me or messaging me, there is not an upcoming meeting scheduled.

My IT support team thought it was something wrong/setting on my Jabra Evolve headset,   but I tried turning off a ringtone setting in the headset's settings, but yet, I still get this same mystery ringing still

any ideas what could be causing this ?

Seems this problem of intermittent double tone during a teams call has been reported with multiple headsets over several years. I have not changed my setup at all and experienced it for the first time today.

SOLUTION: It seems this is resulting from a double mute... Teams is muted and the headset is muted. I resolved easily by depressing both the + & - buttons on my headset simultaneously to take off the headset mute. By repeating the process I can bring the problem back. I think it is a "feature" from aftershocks to remind you that you are muted.

    Enjoy!

I have the same problem (with the continous calling sound playing) occuring while my headphones (Senheiser PHX 550-II) are connected to my laptop and my mobilephone at the same time. I have the MS Teams app installed on both devices. The sound starts playing after I try to call someone and the call was answered. It won't stop playing even after the call was ended. I have to shut down the MS Teams app through the Taskmanager. When my headphones are only connected to one device everything works fine...

I have exactly the same problem with my Bose NC700 UC

Have exact same thing. Started last week.

    1. I have Teams installed only in one device.
    2. My headset is a simple plug in ($10-$20)
    3. Operation : Windows 10

Last week I was on the call, and I heard this call music but when I finished the call with my colleague, the music was there but there was no notification on who was calling or anything. the sound went on so I had to log off Teams and re-log and afterwards there was no notification that I missed anything.

This morning, I had call music - not that long and stopped after maybe like 10 secs but there is no alert telling me who called or what.

I'm not sure what is going on but I hope this is fixed if I'm getting a ghost call.

    Thank you,

Same exact issue for me - keeps ringing after other party picks up, have to force kill teams.exe to stop it. Bose 700 UC. I've taken to making calls on Teams on iPhone, then "joining" my PC to the call for screen, etc.

So frequent I've added a macro to run in always-open admin command line:

    taskkill /f /im teams.exe

This is annoying, and it's been an open bug since 2020?

I do notice an "auto-play" that starts before/after/during making calls. Sometimes I can open the volume panel and see that there is a sound playing in Teams and can press the pause button to stop it.

Sometimes when I answer a call a paused YouTube video in Chrome will suddenly start playing.

Similarly, videos start playing in Chrome when I answer a Discord call.

Sometimes a paused Plex video will suddenly resume for no apparent reason.

Maybe this issue has less to do with Teams specifically as it does a general "pause and resume playing my video/audio when getting a call". Is there some feature in the OS that attempts to pause and resume playing something queued? Maybe when the Bluetooth profile switches from rich audio to voice?
