Managing sound and video settings during Teams meetings and calls for optimal communication
I get the same problem with audio devices that work on MS Teams. But I get this reaction now on Test Calls only. Please advise.

the last week or so I get a random (i don't see a reason/activity for it when it happens) ringing in my headset...like a phone call ringtone, but there is no activity on Teams. No one is calling me or messaging me, there is not an upcoming meeting scheduled.
My IT support team thought it was something wrong/setting on my Jabra Evolve headset, but I tried turning off a ringtone setting in the headset's settings, but yet, I still get this same mystery ringing still
any ideas what could be causing this ?

Hi samuel_rc,
It sounds great! Nice to see this can help the other.
Hope this solution can work for all.
Thank you for your response ☺
I also have this problem and it occurs both when the headset is on and when it is disconnected., and running through the PC speakers.
Interesting point, I've actually been having something similar although a common thread there is I use Jabra Direct to utilize my older Jabra 935 Pro headset. It primarily happens at random whenever I undock my laptop and I have more than one device on MS Teams and it's only my laptop which erroneously rings. Thankfully it's brief and I have a method if I can verify if it's real or not but it always is jarring when closing the laptop and undocking to have it suddenly ring.
The common thread here is we both use Jabra products. Granted, correlation isn't necessarily causation but I thought I'd at least mention. Best of luck and here's hoping we figure out what it is.
Hi Everyone,
I was facing the same issue, but with an Avantree headset device.
I noticed that each I was turning my headset on, there were 2 "device connected" notifications.
So I wondered if my device was connected twice to the computer: through the Avantree usb bluetooth connector device and directly through the computer inbound bluetooth - and if it may have been the cause of the phantom ringing.
Therefore I disconnected the Avantree usb bluetooth connector from my laptop and realized that:
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Ariel
