team mysterious ringing

the last week or so I get a random (i don't see a reason/activity for it when it happens) ringing in my headset...like a phone call ringtone, but there is no activity  on Teams.  No one is calling me or messaging me, there is not an upcoming meeting scheduled.

My IT support team thought it was something wrong/setting on my Jabra Evolve headset,   but I tried turning off a ringtone setting in the headset's settings, but yet, I still get this same mystery ringing still

any ideas what could be causing this ?

I had this same problem and found a temporary fix - at least it worked for me. You can right click on the volume icon on the right of the taskbar and open up the volume mixer. Then, assuming the call sound is still playing and you're in a call, you should see two separate Teams volume bars/selectors (I dont know the actual term) - one with the ringtone thats going and one with the sounds in the call (people talking, etc.) You should be able to drag down the volume selector for the ringtone that won't stop and still hear your call.

This fix also worked for stopping the noise while not in a call and not actively using Teams. I think doing all of this also stops the ringtone when you are actually receiving a call, so watch out for that (unconfirmed). Hopefully it works for everyone who's been having this issue. I'm still trying to find an actual solution...

I have a user when he makes a Teams calls, 10 seconds after the call is answered the ringing starts and doesn't stop until he ends the call.

He's using a Lenovo Yoga and Amazon Echo Dot. The ringing does not happen when he is not using the Echo Dot.

Possibly the same issue for me, if not very similar.

When i make a Teams call, the call is answered by the recipient but the ringtone continues throughout the call and after the call has ended. As above, only way to stop it ringing is to force close the app.

I do switch between between a Jabra Evolve USB headset and my Amazon Echo Dot (Used via BT as an external speaker for clearer calls when a headset isn't required). Could the Jabra headset be the common denominator?

The ringing for me comes through the Echo but that's because I have this speaker set as my audio device on the laptop.

Anyone have an account to log a ticket directly with MS?

Identical for me. Just twice whenever I disconnect my bluetooth headphones.
