team mysterious ringing

the last week or so I get a random (i don't see a reason/activity for it when it happens) ringing in my headset...like a phone call ringtone, but there is no activity  on Teams.  No one is calling me or messaging me, there is not an upcoming meeting scheduled.

My IT support team thought it was something wrong/setting on my Jabra Evolve headset,   but I tried turning off a ringtone setting in the headset's settings, but yet, I still get this same mystery ringing still

any ideas what could be causing this ?

I have a similar issue, but after a call. When I turn off my bluetooth headphones, I hear the Teams ringtone. Luckily it stops after not too long.

The ringing issue has now widely spread through the company.
A classic way to reproduce this - independent of headset / speaker is when 2 people are calling each other at the same time. One of the persons picks up the cross over call, then he/she will get the continuous ringing without the option to stop it. Only way to stop the ringing is to close all calls / close teams and start over again - agreeing on who calls who to avoid the same issue appearing again.   It started after one  of the february releases.

    Hi Joe,

My ringtone was set to "Bop" but the issue still occurred earlier.

When Win10 interacts with the "default ringtone" it seems like this issue occurs. Try calling yourself from a cell phone or having someone else call you while your ringtone is set to any other besides default.

Sadly, changing the ringtone didn't work for me.

I've just been on a Teams call (Which I initiated) and the default ringtone(not the custom one i set yesterday) continued to ring via my external speaker. I had to resort to using a headset and mute my speakers to be able to continue with the call.
