team mysterious ringing

the last week or so I get a random (i don't see a reason/activity for it when it happens) ringing in my headset...like a phone call ringtone, but there is no activity  on Teams.  No one is calling me or messaging me, there is not an upcoming meeting scheduled.

My IT support team thought it was something wrong/setting on my Jabra Evolve headset,   but I tried turning off a ringtone setting in the headset's settings, but yet, I still get this same mystery ringing still

any ideas what could be causing this ?

This happens several times a day, it even happens overnight if my computer is on, but no headset is attached. It will ring continuously until I reboot the PC. It has even happened as soon as I disconnect from a meeting.

I'm also having the same issue, anytime I'm on a Teams call I hear random ringing. We're a small team so I can confirm no one is calling me. I've attempted removing and re-installing Teams. No luck. My Team mates can also hear the ringing while I'm on a call with them. It normally starts within about 30 seconds of being on a call. I'm using a standard headset (not wireless).  Often the ringing will continue for the full duration of a call or randomly stop, however sometimes it continues even after I hang up from the call at which time I have to quit Teams and relaunch.

It does not appear to occur when I join a group call only happening in one on one calls.

UPDATE: for others with this issue, I finally decided to stop using my Wantek brand plugged in headset and this appears to have resolved thee issue for me. I've switched to some wireless headphones and now the mysterious interruptions of constant ringing appear to have stopped (fingers crossed).

This started happing to me when I got a (Bluetooth) Jabra Evolve 75. Specifically when I turn off the device while teams is running I will get two rings on my default audio device.

Previously I had another USB only Plantronics headset and never experienced this bug.

    Also note:

    • I am using Windows 10 Enterprise
    • The headset is connected using the computers onboard Bluetooth ; not the provided USB dongle.
