team mysterious ringing

the last week or so I get a random (i don't see a reason/activity for it when it happens) ringing in my headset...like a phone call ringtone, but there is no activity  on Teams.  No one is calling me or messaging me, there is not an upcoming meeting scheduled.

My IT support team thought it was something wrong/setting on my Jabra Evolve headset,   but I tried turning off a ringtone setting in the headset's settings, but yet, I still get this same mystery ringing still

any ideas what could be causing this ?

This Issue is very frustrating, the only solution is to close the teams and restart imagine you are a presenter on meeting. I don't expect this type of Bug in Microsoft Product.

NOTE: This only happens with my true wireless earphones. not with wired

Adding to this long list of people with this issue. Specifically the random call sound. I can confirm that at least one of the times it played it was when I disconnected my headset.

    Technical data:

    • HP ZBook Fury 15 G7 Mobile Workstation
    • Windows 10 Enterprise version 2004 build 19041.867
    • Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.11161 (64-bit)
    • Using Steelseries Arctic 7 wireless headset

The variety in terms of what type of headphones or headset is used, to not mention it varies between users whether they use Bluetooth, 3,5 connection, WiFi etc, I'd say suggests there's an issue when Teams has to switch between sources/drivers. The loop/infinite sound people seem to experience as well haven't happened to me. Yet.

What HAS happened though is that the computer died completely, not even going to BSOD, when someone called me.

So myself and at least one other have this issue with the application.  Sometimes we don't get the audible ring (when being called or making calls).

When making a call and it doesn't ring some times it will ring after the call. Sometimes it stops other times it doesn't you have to close Teams. As far as I have seen it does not happen when logged in to the web client. Issue with the web client is the blur background nor add back ground is there.

Using this online (Chrome) with a Aftershokz  OpenMove (same headset used in the application of Teams and logging in to Teams it seems to work on every function.

I went back to the application and it'**** and miss.

These are my settings from Teams

I have a co-worker that seems to have hit and miss issues that person has conambo brand headset.

My Co-worker's Version of teams is 1.4.00.11161 (32 bit) Last updated 5/5/21

Both PCs are  running Windows 190401.928

I can confirm this behavior when using my Apple Airpods.  If I put my Airpods back in the charging case, I will hear the Teams ringer for 2 cycles.  Really weird bug.  I'm on Version 1.4.00.8872 (64-bit)

To save you having to fully reboot, if you fully exit Teams (right click the icon in the system tray near the clock and select exit) it should stop the ringing until the next time it happens.
