team mysterious ringing

the last week or so I get a random (i don't see a reason/activity for it when it happens) ringing in my headset...like a phone call ringtone, but there is no activity  on Teams.  No one is calling me or messaging me, there is not an upcoming meeting scheduled.

My IT support team thought it was something wrong/setting on my Jabra Evolve headset,   but I tried turning off a ringtone setting in the headset's settings, but yet, I still get this same mystery ringing still

any ideas what could be causing this ?

    This happens to me... I press the play/pause button on my wired headphones and it stops (if you have a play/pause button on your keyboard, this may work too)! I think it is something to do with the default sound loaded when Teams is running and the headphones/headset briefly disconnecting and reconnecting causing the play button to be pressed.

    I have the same issue: ringing twice, no headphones connected, the bluetooth is disabled, Windows 10, sometimes locked.

    Hey guys,

    I have the same. But while the "tuuuu" ringing, my Skype is blinking as yelow color.

    It seems something wrong in Skype.

    If you have the same issue, this is your solution.

    1. Temporary solution: Exit Skype
    • This will turn off that ringing sound and you can continue your meeting in MSTeam.
    1. Solution:
    • While facing to the ringing "tuuuu" (during MSTeam meeting), go to Skype, open Options > Audio Device
    • In "Select the device..." > Choose "Custom Device"

    Then:

    • In Speaker and Microphone: Choose randomly any another device (maybe you will hear some noise). With this step don't need to choose OK, just choose Cancel to get out and keep the default setting.
    • Finally, Exit your Skype then open again.

    This problem maybe from conflict device between Skype and MSTeam.

    Hope this work with your case.

    In my case, skype doesn't blink yellow, but in every meeting in teams with my headset bluetooth aftershokz I heard the "ghost call". Following your advice, open skype, options, audio device and just changing the microphone device give me the solution. What a dream, after almost a month suffering this ghost noise, found a solution!!!

    found a band aid for now.

    go in to settings

    sound

    sound control panel

    sounds

    program events: skype 4 b

    dial tone> select sounds (none)

    apply

    so even though what's still going on is happening it doesn't effect the calls and now doesn't make an noise when doing it.

    update, doesnt permanently resolve, had one user come back to me advising the jabra express install fixed it at the time but it happened again a few hours later.
