team mysterious ringing

the last week or so I get a random (i don't see a reason/activity for it when it happens) ringing in my headset...like a phone call ringtone, but there is no activity  on Teams.  No one is calling me or messaging me, there is not an upcoming meeting scheduled.

My IT support team thought it was something wrong/setting on my Jabra Evolve headset,   but I tried turning off a ringtone setting in the headset's settings, but yet, I still get this same mystery ringing still

any ideas what could be causing this ?

    Hi all,

this issue happens with my headset as well. I am using a Jabra Evolve 2 85. The ringer happens sometimes when I hang up a call. It rings twice, then stops.

It seems the issue is there now for quite a while. Having this ring all the time is surely quite annoying. Is there an official ticket associated to this?

This started happening with my Teams a few weeks ago.

Ringing sound, but nothing to 'answer' and no window or anything say 'who' or what is calling me.

It stops automatically after about 10 seconds.

I think it happens when I re-connect my Bluetooth headphones.

    Hi Everyone,

I was facing the same issue, but with an Avantree headset device.

I noticed that each I was turning my headset on, there were 2 "device connected" notifications.

So I wondered if my device was connected twice to the computer: through the Avantree usb bluetooth connector device and directly through the computer inbound bluetooth - and if it may have been the cause of the phantom ringing.

Therefore I disconnected the Avantree usb bluetooth connector from my laptop and realized that:

    • There is only one "device connected" notification now
    • The phantom ringing seem to have disappeared as well

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Ariel

Interesting point, I've actually been having something similar although a common thread there is I use Jabra Direct to utilize my older Jabra 935 Pro headset. It primarily happens at random whenever I undock my laptop and I have more than one device on MS Teams and it's only my laptop which erroneously rings. Thankfully it's brief and I have a method if I can verify if it's real or not but it always is jarring when closing the laptop and undocking to have it suddenly ring.

The common thread here is we both use Jabra products. Granted, correlation isn't necessarily causation but I thought I'd at least mention. Best of luck and here's hoping we figure out what it is.

I also have this problem and it occurs both when the headset is on and when it is disconnected., and running through the PC speakers.
