Unable to access my Outlook/hotmail email account. Error 401- RESOLVED

i have the same issue- just today. Cant access outlook even though i can login into my MS account. The same Error 401.

Same here, I have been trying to log into my email account and receive the error 401 unhandled rejection.

I can get into onedrive and log into my laptop, maybe its a problem with microsoft today?

I'm getting same issue. Outlook was working fine yesterday before windows update. Since this morning, post update, i haven't been able to get past the 401 error page on any device. I have tried clearing cache and cookies and resetting password. The Live/Microsoft account page logs in fine, it only seems to be outlook that's having authentication problems. It's really frustrating me. They better fix this soon.

Same problem here, only for 1 Hotmail-account, the others work fine. What should we do the get access again?

Having the same problem since about midday today. Cannot get my emails at all. Have tried multiple devices with no luck. All other Microsoft products seems to be working fine. My husband's emails are fine and still working.

same issue here, personal email doesn't work today, on phone keeps asking password, on computer just doesn't load

From what I've been able to see, it's a global problem. Until Microsoft deigns to offer a response, the only thing to do is wait for it to resolve on its own. The more noise there is, the better. I've done some searches and so far, nowhere is there any talk of problems with Outlook.

I'm having the same issue in Spain. Can't connect via web site on computer or phone (Chrome, Edge, Duckduckgo), or via app on phone. I assumed I'd done something wrong until I saw all these messages.

However, I was able to join this forum (first time ever) using the same address, no sign in required.

Same issue here in the UK. I've been unable to access emails via browsers on mac desktop, or android phone all day. Incredibly frustrating, especially when expecting important emails from my children's school, log-in verifications, etc.

This seems to be affecting a lot of people, I have the exact same issue. My last email was yesterday afternoon. I can't send either.

I'm having the same issue on my computer and my phone. On my phone, I can submit a request to the authenticator and get approved, but it fails again and asks for re-authentication, leaving me in a difficult situation.

Same here Florida. I started my new job today I had to log into my email because I forgot my password and I couldn't log in so they said I had to go home for the day

I'm getting this same error after I enter my Outlook login credentials. Multiple browsers and devices. Pleases help, Microsoft.

I really wish I'd known that Outlook and several other services are down before I started uninstalling and reinstalling the outlook app!!! Why couldn't the 401 notification highlight the issue!!!!

I am having the same issue, just my outlook account, luckily my other family members can still use their accounts (especially given how important these accounts are and the fact that they are traveling atm)

It’s a bit of a nightmare because my husband is receiving his e mails, I can’t receive or send.

Same 401 error message. Can’t change anything because my contact phone number is a landline and no messages can be sent via text and I can’t change to a mobile without a verification code.

Cleared cache and cookies no change no access...Ugh. Dealing with other product defect issues via email, and now I'm out of communication with the vendor...UGH. Help from Microsoft would be appreciated. Guess I'll switch my "go to" to Chrome and Gmail. They work.

Yea I've got the same problem, I am unable to access my mailbox on my laptop.

I reached out to Microsoft for support and they said it might be that its tied to a company who have restricted access, which makes no sense as its my personal email.

Very confused as to why this is happening but i guess it's reassuring that a lot of people have the exact same issue on the same day, hopefully Microsoft is working on this issue.
