I cannot even install this update and it fails to install every time I attempt downloading this update. I get this error message every time I try to update, "Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later. Error code: (0x80073712).

I have tried everything to resolve it and nothing has worked. I have run SFC, DISM, DSCK, tried to repair my system files, run the windows update trouble shooter and the problem continues to persist.

As of today Microsoft has FINALLY fixed this issue. As I had assumed it was on their side.

    ABOUT DAMN TIME!

Today I reluctantly did a recovery install that kept my files, but not my apps. Prior to that I did a number of things recommended on the net, and while the computer was the cleanest and most reset it could be, it did not solve the problem. So doing a recovery install seems to have solved the problem for me and this update installed correctly. Now have the onerous task of reinstalling apps. So if you don't mind the work I would recommend you do this, as others have on this message board.

My problem - on a new Acer Desktop computer - was not with installation, but with downloading. Downloading repeatedly failed - as I indicated in an earlier post.
