Stop upgrade to Windows 11

I upgraded to Windows 11 and reverted back to Windows 10. Now Windows 10 automatically attempts to download and install Windows 11 again. See below:

I can Pause Updates but doing so doesn't allow me to update Windows 10 "patches." I'm being forced to Upgrade to Windows 11 without the ability to stop it.

I want to cancel the Upgrade to Windows 11 (download/installation) process which initiated on its own without my consent. The current status is how it shows in the image above - ready to download and then install Windows 11 but there is no way to stop it.

What I want:

  • Windows 10 to stop Upgrade to Windows 11 process
  • Ability to update Windows 10 without it upgrading/installing to Windows 11
  • Windows 10 with the ability to update patches

    Reading through this entire thread, looks like thst MS has outdone themselves again. I expect no less these days.

    Back in the Win 7 days there was a utility to run to kill off any auto update to Windows 10. We need something similiar - if it is at all possible; but according to this thread there ain't.

    Please build a time machine and let us all go back to the days of 2001-2002 when XP was "heck yeah" fun.

    Forget these 'guides' or you'll end up missing important updates. If you want to block the Windows 11 upgrade, simply head into your BIOS and disable TPM. Your computer will work fine without it and windows 10 doesn't need it.

    I think like everyone else that MS needs to provide another solution since windows 10 and windows 11 are both 21h2 and soon to have a 22h1 (I am guessing for both).

    We should not block 21h2 from windows 10 but until a better block is presented I don't think we have a choice.

    It is funny that everyone is pointing to the article at MajorGeeks and no actual article from MS!!!

    and a few talk about doing this in GPO but the options to set as described do not exist and no one has explained why yet
