Stop upgrade to Windows 11

I upgraded to Windows 11 and reverted back to Windows 10. Now Windows 10 automatically attempts to download and install Windows 11 again. See below:

I can Pause Updates but doing so doesn't allow me to update Windows 10 "patches." I'm being forced to Upgrade to Windows 11 without the ability to stop it.

I want to cancel the Upgrade to Windows 11 (download/installation) process which initiated on its own without my consent. The current status is how it shows in the image above - ready to download and then install Windows 11 but there is no way to stop it.

What I want:

  • Windows 10 to stop Upgrade to Windows 11 process
  • Ability to update Windows 10 without it upgrading/installing to Windows 11
  • Windows 10 with the ability to update patches

    I was asked to upgrade a friend's laptop to 11 last week, he thought he was doing fine but something borked his install.

    When I got it apart I find an old fashioned 5400rpm hdd, the darn little thing had so many bad blocks it was unusable.

    All I could save (using Discgenius) were the large thumbnails of the pictures he' had taken on his iPhone.
    He must have dropped the thing and was too embarrassed to tell me ;)

    Anyway back to 11....**** were they thinking, putting start in the center of the screen?

    MS loves screwing with their customers by changing some necessary function, then calling it a "New Feature" that you just Have to Have.

    Worse, along with trying to teach us old horses new tricks they decided to end windows 10 support in a year or 2, remember, windows 10 "The Last Version" of windows.
    Aggravation.....Grrrrrrr.....

    Our work computers just did it, luckily mine is not compatible so I can actually get some work done.

    I haven't yet seen Windows 11 install it's self with no user input, but I'm sure it's coming.

    What u mean... if u catch it during download? I dont understand why this is even a question. When an available update appears in the tray, click it. That takes u to windows update. Like today, i saw update available, so i click it and theres windows 11, hoping to ruin my day! NO!! NOT UPGRADING. NOT NOW, NO. Then i pause updates for 7 days. Leave me the **** alone. I still use XP and Windows 7, albeit a bit slow...
