I agree with Boloke, the white space has increased considerably for me and the photo size has decreased considerably! Using Win11.
The extra large icons were very helpful in photo editing processes; now not so much. Bummer!!

Now using Windows 11. When I open File Explorer to view photo thumbnails and set the view to Extra Large, it is not any larger than when I set the view to Large. The only difference between Large and Extra Large is that the spacing between thumbnails gets larger -- not the photo itself.
My laptop is still on Windows 10, and Extra Large view there is much larger than the Large view setting.
Can you help?

2022-02-04T22:48:37+00:00 Has anyone found a resolution for this? I've had the same problem with Windows 10 and 11. The only thing that solved it was lowering the display resolution settings to 1920 x 1080, to me this is not an acceptable solution. I don't feel as though I should have to change my display settings each time I want to look at thumbnails. I have a severe vision impairment, and this issue is causing a big problem for me. Way back in Windows 8, there was a considerable difference between large and extra large thumbnails. Of course, I didn't have the resolution that I do know. Currently I have a 4K Oled Screen. The "recommended" resolutions settings for my screen are 3456 x 2160. This resolution produces no problem for anything else other than file explorer thumbnails. I know Windows 11 has some issues, but this has been happening at least since Windows 10. :/

2022-02-03T19:12:14+00:00 I have exactly the same issue with my new laptop running Windows 11. The photo images in folder are ridiculously small and have a lot of space around them. I have two laptops, both have 15" screens, both high end HP laptops. When the thumbnails setting is set to Extra large on each, the old one running Windows 10 has in-folder images approx 3" wide for a landscape image. The new one running Windows 11 shows the same folder, same images approx 1.5" wide.

2022-11-15T10:24:27+00:00 This is the same in Win 10 and Win 11. its a known issue with 4K screen using Windows which Microsotf didnt bother to handle. you could have researched a bit before answering as not every question here related to Powershell cleaning commands or computer Restart (i hate those generic Tech support script answers).
They have fixed thumbnail pixel size generated in cache, they should work in a new system which the thumbnail actually adjustable and not just replaced. maybe they can add a 4k thumbnail catagory. this issue is dragged for years and make it hard to work.
