***^UPDATED 01/11/22^*REMINDERWindows 10, version 2004 reached end of servicing on December 14, 2021. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends that you update to the latest version of Windows 10.

To update to one of the newer versions of Windows 10, we recommend that you use the appropriate Enablement Package KB (EKB). Using the EKB makes updating faster and easier and requires a single restart. To find the EKB for a specific OS, go to theImprovements and fixessection and click or tap the OS name to expand the collapsible section.

Highlights:

  • Updates a known issue that affects Japanese Input Method Editors (IME). Text you enter might appear out of order or the text cursor might move unexpectedly in apps that use the multibyte character set (MBCS).
  • Updates security for your Windows operating system.

Download the updates from the Microsoft Update Catalog.

Responding to your trouble updating the latest win 11 updates, I lost sound as you did. To fix the sound issue, I had to do a reset, a full reset. I installed Windows and reinstalled not keeping any of my files. I back them all up in the cloud so we're just dealing with some apps. Well, my sound was fixed and everything seemed to be working until I updated win framework update. Now my brightness is stuck on super bright! I haven't found a fix yet and I've been scouring the web and not one thing that I've tried has worked. This is bull! We shouldn't worry that by doing an update it will kill our computers!

There is technically no way to get Group Policy on 10 Home. It's only for Pro editions, and I think other org-related versions.

Don't even think about downloading from other sites. They can be malicious.

You can go to github.com and use the Explorer Patcher. If you choose to use it, make a system image backup first.

    Hi All,

I bought my Laptop with Windows 11 pre-Installed on it.

Yesterday I did windows update on my laptop and since then All the Apps/Icons on my taskbar disappeared.

I tried uninstalling updates but I am still not able to see my taskbar app icons.

Is there anything that can be done to resolve this?
