Agreed, I'm not normally a microsoft basher, but it really is a nightmare to use.

I think it's been dumbed down to make it "easier" to use, I suspect primarily for non-business use, but the decisions in what to hide are quite extraordinary.

If you haven't used it, it's a bit like having your indicators hidden in the glove compartment when driving a car... ;-) and the only way to find it, is to search the owners manual = always looking for something which used to be there.

It will have to be changed drmatically, or MS are going to drown in complaints.

Thanks for sharing such details. I also use a Surface, and what you describe is exactly what I fear with Windows 11. I am really, really hoping that by the time Windows 10 is no longer supported/updated they will have made some significant changes to Windows 11 that make it more Surface-friendly.

I'm not going to use Windows 11 and I did change my registry so it can not ever run on my computer without me changing it back.

Windows 11 continues to be a nightmare. I'm staying with Windows 10

I'm answering the question about why you wouldn't want to upgrade to windows 11. I've used every microsoft PC operating system from DOS onwards, so I have experience of pretty much every UI windows ever made, and other than DOS, windows 11 is the worst, by far.

Reminds me of the metro tiles shambles.

Update upgraded my surface, and the start menu is truly awful to use,. I have the same beef everyone has. Can't create groups of apps, resize etc. It is effectively an expanded search bar, and as such is a total disaster, pretty much an obstacle / unusable.

The menu options on file explorer hide core / basic options like copy and paste into an extras option, so every time you use the tools, oyu are wasthing multiple clicks.

I don't doubt all the options are there, if you can wade through the menu's. I don't have time for this, it is a disaster, and I'm desperate to avoid it getting onto my workstation, as it will destroy my productivity.

An absolute disaster..... no holds barred (and I'm a windows fan....)
