how do I fix desktop and file folders that do not refresh automatically?

If you are using Windows 11, you can try this:

  1. Open File Explorer
  2. On the top bar, click the right most "..." to open more option
  3. Click "option"

there are three tabs on the top, what you have to do is to click the "restore to default" button on each tab.

remember to click "apply".

    Agreed. I never encountered this issue before Win11. Unless told otherwise, I regard it as a bug.

    Using the above instructions, I opened the Windows Registry.

    Win'+'R', enter "regedit" and press Enter to open the Registry Editor, and then expand the following location:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Update

    I did not find the directory ~/Update

    The instructions suggest adding this but I noticed that this is for a 32 bit system

    Is there a safe way to add this registry and the required data to fix the Windows 10 Pro (64 bit) version issue with not refreshing?

    I previously uninstalled OneDrive and have the issue. So I don't have the option of unlinking. :(

    Click the right mouse button of Update, "New">"DWORD (32-bit) Value", rename, the data of UpdateMode is 0

    Exit the Registry Editor and restart the system.

    CAN I APPLY THIS STPES WITH "64 BIT VERSION WINDOWS" ???

    Kindly revert asap
