How to Cancel Windows 11 update?

I'm one of the people who had Windows 11 download itself without me telling it to do so. Now, it is ready for install. I do not want to install Windows 11 at this point. I want to keep my Windows 10.

I've paused it for 7 days, but this is a temporary solution. Can I delete the Windows 11 download somehow? I'm running Windows 10 on a brand new Dell computer.

    Can you just set the product version but not a target version? I want to only block Windows 11 update, not future Windows 10 builds.

    With 21H2 as your target version, you will get all Windows 10 updates until they stop those -- which I believe will be in Oct. of 2025.

    Just to clarify what I said above, I have been getting build updates periodically with 21H2 set as my target version.

    Hi, Portland. In double checking what I said to Derek M_1, I discovered that there is now a Windows 10 22H2. Did you know this? It seems they began a phased rollout in Oct. 2022. Seems a good idea to have the latest version of Windows 10 for as long as possible, so I changed my target version to 22H2 just now. My version still shows 21H2 on my computer, so I guess I will be offered 22H2 in the days ahead. If anyone in this thread knows of a reason not to set 22H2 as your target version, I sure would appreciate knowing it!
