How to Cancel Windows 11 update?

I'm one of the people who had Windows 11 download itself without me telling it to do so. Now, it is ready for install. I do not want to install Windows 11 at this point. I want to keep my Windows 10.

I've paused it for 7 days, but this is a temporary solution. Can I delete the Windows 11 download somehow? I'm running Windows 10 on a brand new Dell computer.

Hi. Would these directions still apply, even though my version of Windows 10 is 64-bit and 21H1?

Collect Call to Rodrigo from HELP! 😆

I in advertently followed the wrong instructions (trying to block Windows 11). I went to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and deleted most of the files. It was at 98% when I realized I was following the wrong instructions. Is there anyway to undo what I did, like a Systems Restore? 🤦🏾‍♀️ I had postponed the download until Jan 23rd, and now I don't know what to do. Is there anything I can do to correct the mess I've made? 🙏🏾

Please update to 21H1 at least as 20H2 support ends in May. Both share the same code.

    https://www.yourwindowsguide.com/2021/05/windows-10-version-21h1-offline.html

Or you can substitute 21H1 in the second command with 20H2.

I just checked my Dell Laptop for what version of Windows I'm running. It is running:

    WINDOWS 10 HOME 20H2

I see that doesn't match any of what you told me above in the registry. You have these two versions listed:

    Windows 10 version 21H2

    Windows 10 version 21H1

So your instructions will not work for me.

Now you make me wonder if I set my computer back to before Windows 11 downloaded (not installed yet as I keep pausing the installation), will the Windows 11 download disappear?
