How to Cancel Windows 11 update?

I'm one of the people who had Windows 11 download itself without me telling it to do so. Now, it is ready for install. I do not want to install Windows 11 at this point. I want to keep my Windows 10.

I've paused it for 7 days, but this is a temporary solution. Can I delete the Windows 11 download somehow? I'm running Windows 10 on a brand new Dell computer.

    I know many folks who did install Windows 11. No issues other than some minor tweaking. Maybe you should install Windows 11 again and just try to live with it.

    Other people have rolled back to Windows 10 after using Windows 11 for a few days. You are expressing the issues they have seen and some are even worse. Something happens during the rollback to Windows 10 that then really messes up your computer.

    I would be right there with you! My husband installed 11 on his surface and seems to like it well enough. so I thought it would be fine on mine. I think it runs slower, so I went back to10, but of course like everyone else it still downloads, and now the lag time between command and action is an issue and I am clueless where to go from here

    I deleted the contents of this folder and it removed the "Windows 11 is ready to install" icon by the clock.
    Now what gets me, I have all sorts of registry blocks in place. I also have it set to metered network and NOT to update / upgrade over metered.
    But it decided to anyway. Which killed my internet speed.

    So now I not only deleted the contents of that folder. I also set it to read only and under security revoked ALL system access to that folder. Lets see if Windows gets the hint now..... If this keeps happening, time for Linux. I REFUSE to have an OS be malware and force itself on me. I DO NOT WANT 11.
    Heck I didn't even want 10.

    Thanks for your reply, now I have one doubt:

    contrary to your case that you rolled back from windows in my case if I recover the present situation I will still be with the **** win11 installation pending, right? This means I would not gain anything in all this work...
