How to Cancel Windows 11 update?

I'm one of the people who had Windows 11 download itself without me telling it to do so. Now, it is ready for install. I do not want to install Windows 11 at this point. I want to keep my Windows 10.

I've paused it for 7 days, but this is a temporary solution. Can I delete the Windows 11 download somehow? I'm running Windows 10 on a brand new Dell computer.

There is no way to circumvent what Windows 11 will do to your older programs that you are running on Windows 10 (I assume that is what you have). Windows 11 is NOT compatible with a lot of programs.

The only way is to NOT let Windows 11 download on your computer.

This was forced on me too. I'm not ready for Win 11 since I have always had bad experiences making these kind of changes in the past. There must be some way to circumvent the Win 11 from possibly messing up all my programs without me having a choice???

I do remember that from a couple of weeks ago. I won't be joining any insider program. I'll just change the registry and wait.

Thank you Lynn for all of your support and knowledge.

No problems with anything since updating to 22H2. It was a total non-event. I did wait about a week for it to be offered in updates, and then got impatient and went to Microsoft's download page to initiate update to 22H2. Went off quickly and without a hitch.

PS: It was my impatience that led to that fiasco with the Insider program, btw. I still had to go to Microsoft's download page and then, of course, had all the hassle with getting fully, permanently out of Insider.

PPS: Correction: It was on my desktop computer that I had to go to the download page for 22H2. It did get offered in Updates on my surface when I joined the dreaded Insider program, but as you know I would strongly advise against that.

Thank you. I'm so darn cautious. I'll do that then.

Your printer is still working fine? No issues with the new version?
