How to Cancel Windows 11 update?

I'm one of the people who had Windows 11 download itself without me telling it to do so. Now, it is ready for install. I do not want to install Windows 11 at this point. I want to keep my Windows 10.

I've paused it for 7 days, but this is a temporary solution. Can I delete the Windows 11 download somehow? I'm running Windows 10 on a brand new Dell computer.

    I even did restrictions on the power shell to try and thwart 11 and just push Updates for 10. I must have missed something for that all my privacy setting are changed and slowly going back in to take back my CPU space one permission at a time with the goal of only having 20% CPU space used before opening applications.

    If it is brand new you have free support from Dell, than I suggest you to ask this question to their support and to report your reply here. This should be very useful also for us

    I have the Windows Version 20H1 also. I've never upgraded to the newer version. My Windows 11 is downloaded waiting for install. I never told my computer to do it. I'm in the pausing stage. Once again, I've read all these solutions and in all honesty I think these are the choices:

    1. Continue pausing for 35 days at a time
    2. Stop the update service in its entirety

    Version 20H1 will not be supported by Microsoft after May 1st of this year. No more updates are coming. So, I would suggest on just planning to install Windows 11 when you are ready.

    Then maybe you're not in the state where it's already downloading the patch or waiting for you to reboot so it will apply it.

    If the GPO didn't work (did you reboot after?), then maybe the registry hack will do. (Posted by Rodrigo Quieroz on the first page)

    My upgrade is scheduled for the 28 Jan (delayed by me), yes I rebooted more than once in the last weeks. What do you think?

    Moreover this is in the register, looks like the settings should be ok according to Rodrigo ... for the little I can understand
