Update: Resolved issue by disconnecting PC from power (unplugging from wall) for 10 minutes and then restarting. Baffling. Bluetooth services disappeared several weeks ago and I've been trying to get it back. Here's what I've found so far: Bluetooth troubleshooter couldn't solve it Restarting Bluetooth Services - I have done this, and have set all to start automatically however BluetoothUserService_5aacd will not allow me to move it from Manual to Automatic, I get a "The parameter is incorrect" error I uninstalled and reinstalled the BT drivers, which did not fix the issue I have uninstalled Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) within Device Manager, and restarted computer, which reinstalled the Intel BT but did not fix the issue (note: my Device Manager is constantly refreshing/ flashing, unsure if related) Thank you in advance for your help! Hi there, [To spread awareness about this problem, I described my experience below:] I just had similar issue where my system showed a blue screen out of nowhere and after rebooting itself I couldn't access bluetooth anymore. I started by following https://www.makeuseof.com/windows-11-missing-bluetooth/ but without any success (I was unable to do step 3.2 -> Go to Devices and click on More Bluetooth Settings) I then restarted my system. This once again didn't help. Finally, I turned off the pc entirely (as suggested in the thread) and it worked so thank you.

I suspect that your solution might have worked for me. Thanks for taking time to post here. When I investigated Device Manager , I remember seeing an unknown device under USB controllers as you mentioned. I did not suspect that it was related to my disappeared Bluetooth icon and did not want to troubleshoot some separate problem. I ignored this during the solution of my Bluetooth issue. This unknown device remained during my subsequent visits to Device Manager while trying to solve my missing Bluetooth. I have not checked back since until now. I see that this unknown device is now gone.

I found that this issue is pretty commonplace. If not randomly then one of the updates does cause this. I found that this simple solution works pretty well: In your Device Manager , when bluetooth icon disappears and you can't even switch it on/off (bluetooth troubleshooter says it can't find bluetooth installed), then there's an unknown device under USB controllers . Right click the unknown device. Select disable device . Then after a couple of seconds select enable device . These steps always resolve the issue for me.

Solved I found a number of posts on this problem on different forums. Here is what DID NOT WORK for me: I verified that Bluetooth could not turned on or off in Settings>Bluetooth & devices. The switch was not shown. In Device Manager, Bluetooth was not shown and I brought it back with View>Show hidden devices. Then I saw that all of my devices were grayed out. This indicated that the hardware was not available either by a failure, fault, or driver. To see if Windows could recover, I right-clicked Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) and selected Uninstall device. Upon Windows restart, there was no fix and now Bluetooth was no longer even hidden in Device Manager. I looked at drivers. Since Bluetooth was no longer available in Device Manager, there was no easy way to update or uninstall, so I just found the latest Bluetooth driver for my laptop and reinstalled. No change. Next was a System Restore. I found a point that was only a couple weeks old and let my laptop process this for about an hour. I had one message saying that Windows could not complete the restore properly and I struggled through Advanced options and was able to select a second attempt with the same restore point and it succeeded. This did not fix Bluetooth and created many other issues to resolve upon restart including having to uninstall and reinstall OneDrive. HERE IS WHAT WORKED: Hard reset: Hold power button for 15 seconds. Upon restart Bluetooth was back perfectly. The only issue to clean up was that Windows needed me to reset my login PIN.

Sharing my experience with the hope that it helps others resolve their bluetooth issue as well. My bluetooth had disappeared suddenly without any cause or reason and it did not come back by reinstalling the device drivers, or resetting the bluetooth services, or by trying a lot of other solutions. Bluetooth had disappeared from Device Manager and replaced with a mystery USB device. Nothing seemed to bring it back.

Eventually what worked is to shut down the laptop completely and disconnect the power cable and kept it shut for about 10 minutes before starting it up again. (make sure it is fully shut down and not sleep and not restarted)

Laptop : Asus zendesk with Windows 11 Pro 21H2 (updated to the latest fixes). Uses Intel Wireless Bluetooth drivers.
