Window 11 taskbar auto-hide turning off

I switched to Windows 11 a few weeks ago, and ever since then, the taskbar auto-hide quits working when the computer comes out of Sleep mode. I have to be away from the computer for a while before it will happen, and I believe it has something to do with me running dual monitors. When I wake my computer, my secondary monitor appears to come up faster than my primary by just a fraction. Once my primary is on, there is a message saying something about the taskbar already being hidden (I think) and the taskbar on my primary monitor has the taskbar up. When I go to Taskbar Behaviors, 'Automatically hide the taskbar' is no longer checked. I'll select it again, and it will work fine until the system goes back into Sleep mode for a while, again.

    Nope, still going strong.

    For whatever it's worth, in recent months it has not happened as much to me. Mileage may vary.

    Add me to the list. My company just forced us to Win 11 and this is my biggest annoyance. Here I was hoping to google and come up with a quick fix, and instead I find a thread that's 2 years old and the problem still exists.

    This issue hasn't been fixed as of 10/27/2024.

    I do however have additional information as it happens in another situation as well.

    I have 2 monitors as well. Both connected via HDMI, There are 2 machines connected to both monitors. I can have both monitors on the same machine at the same time, or have one monitor showing one machine, and the other on the other monitor.

    On the Win 10 machine I have no taskbar hiding issue, but on the Win 11 machine I do.

    The issue occurs since Win 11 seems to get confused as to which monitor is the active one.

    One monitor is a Samsung with 2 inputs, VGA and HDMI. VGA goes to the domain controller, HDMI to an HDMI 4 port switch. When this monitor is turned off, it appears to disconnect. Turning it on causes the Win 11 machine to reset the driver, which is on a Ben-Q monitor with 3 HDMI and one displayport, No need for a switch on this monitor. One HDMI input and the displayport goes to this monitor on the Win 11 box. When both machines are on, neither show boot screens when restarting the respective computer. Only shows up once Windows has loaded to the point that the logon screen is displayed.

    The can't have 2 hidden taskbars message only comes up occasionally. As of yet, I haven't been able to isolate the sequence of events that trigger this.

    I am not new to Windows. I have no issues editing the registry (for example).

    Also am Security + certified.

    Hopefully the above info can help nail down this issue since it's persisted for several years.
