I have one monitor on Windows 11 and this still occurs. It appears random just using the basic system. If I connect to the system or connect from it to another using Remote Desktop it almost always happens.

I switched to Windows 11 a few weeks ago, and ever since then, the taskbar auto-hide quits working when the computer comes out of Sleep mode. I have to be away from the computer for a while before it will happen, and I believe it has something to do with me running dual monitors. When I wake my computer, my secondary monitor appears to come up faster than my primary by just a fraction. Once my primary is on, there is a message saying something about the taskbar already being hidden (I think) and the taskbar on my primary monitor has the taskbar up. When I go to Taskbar Behaviors, 'Automatically hide the taskbar' is no longer checked. I'll select it again, and it will work fine until the system goes back into Sleep mode for a while, again.

2025-05-25T07:28:49+00:00 I still have the problem May 26 2025. I have a single (65"Oled TV) monitor over hdmi. I don't want to burn the OLED TV with the taskbar and have wrestled with this since upgrading to Win 11 a few months ago.
You would think that 511 replies to a three year thread would get some attention, so here is one more grizzle.

2025-05-12T14:28:32+00:00 Same issue here. I leave my PC on 24/7 with no sleep settings set or dual monitors and it still occurs after unlocking from an extended period of time.

He asked how to resolve the problem whereby the auto hide feature turns itself off, and your answer was "how to disable auto hide".

2025-03-11T15:54:52+00:00 2025 and I have the issue. Nowadays I switched to an OLED monitor, so keeping it ALWAYS autohide is essential to avoid burnout.
Computer is fully updated.
