Window 11 taskbar auto-hide turning off

thanks for your reply. I assume that the update has been installed on my system as my OS build says 22000.469 and the optional updates section in the system preferences tells me that there are no further optional updates available.

But the issue remains the same. I can enable Auto-hide on my main display but each time i reboot windows the feature is disabled again. In my case the windows main display is on monitor 2 (the number given by the graphics card automatically) and monitor 1 (by graphics card hardware count) is my windows secondary screen. Maybe this infacts the issue as well? Although this has never been an issue in Windows 10 maybe Windows 11 relies more on the hardware side given numbering of the displays? Unfortunately in my casa i cannot change the wiring because i only have one DP on my graphics card and the rest hdmi and i need the DP to serve my windows secondary display.

Maybe these information help to find a solution or at least give other people with the same issue an idea for a workaround.

I have posted about this before. But I have noticed a pattern.

I often get a message "A toolbar is already hidden on this side of the screen." It goes on to state that you can only have one hidden toolbar per side! These messages are in a dialog box the locks the whole UI. So I cannot take a screen shot.

This often appears when I access my computer when it has the screen saver running (black screen). After this message, the auto-hide task bar setting has been turned off.

This seems quite bizarre. I do not have any special or extra toolbars. Just those that come with standard windows 11.

You didn't come remotely close to answering the question, It's like you didn't even bother to read what he was saying. I'm having the same issue. The "Automatically Hide The Taskbar" Feature does not stay enabled. We don't need help turning it off. WE KNOW HOW TO DO THAT. We're asking how to KEEP IT ON.

Not that it helps, but you're not alone as I have the same problem. I was hoping the recent update was going to fix it and made a point of pushing the update onto my computer. The update's notes seem to indicate the taskbar issue would be, but no luck. I run a single display on DP, so it may not be your dual monitor setup causing the issue.

I seem to have found a temporary fix :

I changed the power settings so the monitors never go to sleep and I turn the monitors off when I stop working.

I've done this for three nights now and the task bar still hides and hasn't frozen requiring a restart.

BUT I would still like to see a real fix.

The reason I shut off the monitors is so the glare doesn't disturb the dogs who sleep in the same room overnight. I've left the monitors on all day today and things are OK still. So Microsoft, how about working on this a bit more !?
