The only other option for the OS is a clean install.
There is a chance it is server side where the fault lies. Some users report the reinstall fixed it for them and other, like yourself, it doesn't.

I recently purchased a laptop that came with the S mode of Windows. On the first startup it automatically installed Windows 11 (so downgrading to 10 is not an option). After set up etc. I updated Microsoft Store and installed various Windows updates and tried to switch it out of S mode. Instead, for the past few hours and with each of the hundreds of attempts, I keep getting a window that says "Try that again. Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help" along with an error code that changes every time. I am burned out and all out of ideas, any assistance on the matter will be greatly appreciated.

2024-06-12T22:36:08+00:00 I fixed the problem, I had to disable secure boot on the recovery system bit. You also need your recovery key for your PC. Okay then: First you go to windows to Settings, Settings to Recovery, Click Restart Now, Then it will restart, You click the firmware or something like that it's on the right side. Then try to disable Secure boot. After that you need your recovery key to Log back into your pc that is very important you get your recovery key. Then once logged back in go to Settings then Activation and try and try click the s mode. And click get to remove it.
Another thing what I did was reinstall Windows and PC and it worked. But make sure to saver personal files or important files you need. But yeah that's how it worked for me. It was a long process.

2024-06-12T19:57:59+00:00 After trying everything online, I did finally get to speak with someone from Microsoft. It seems the only way to get this to work is to do a restore on your computer back to factory reset. When you do the restore, you have to say new computer when booting up again. So, don't try to get it to use an old computer or back anything up. It needs to be wiped clean. Then before you personlize it or bring your files and info over,go to settings-system- activation and follow the directions in microsoft store to click on the GET button. It actually did work for me yesterday much to my surprise. I thought it was going to say try again like it has a million times before! Good luck everyone!

Having gone through the same routes and wasted countless frustrating hours as the rest of us, the post from Louise on 31st May has indeed solved the problem for me.
Mine is a Lenovo laptop but I'm sure the solution will be the same for any hardware trying to bin the S mode function from Windows 11 Home Edition.
