There's a relatively easy way to temporarily disable S mode on your Windows 10 system to do things normally blocked by it and then re-enable it afterwards. This is for people who may only need to run desktop apps once in awhile and don't want to take the plunge to fully remove S mode. The best thing about it, just one reboot puts you back.
- Go to Settings -> Recovery, select Restart now from Advanced startup.
- From the Recovery screen select Troubleshoot, Advanced options, See more recovery options, Startup Settings. Restart the machine.
- From the Startup Settings screen select "7) Disable driver signature enforcement". The machine will restart.
Your machine will now let you run any executable as you would be able to when out of S mode.
When you want to go back, just reboot the machine. S mode will be back protecting you again.
