Windows 11- audio long delay before starting

After updating to Windows 11 on my 6 month old laptop, my audio files take 20 seconds to start or they do not start at all. This also causes a delay in videos starting whether the file is on my computer or a website. Has anyone else had this issue.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the tip. On my side I have a Thinkpad. I have removed and re-intsalled the Realtek driver with the same version and it solved the problem ;-)

    Hi all,

    I have a Dell Inspiron 14 running Windows 11. I also had the same problem, which I think I have solved (maybe temporarily :-) ) by re-installing Waves MaxxAudio Pro. I unfortunately need Waves MaxxAudio Pro otherwise my headphone jack does not work (the Realtek Audio driver does not seem to manage my headphone jack correctly - not the first time I have found this happening with Dell laptops). Anyway, after re-installing Waves MaxxAudio Pro, this problem seems to have disappeared. I hope this may help you.

    Try contacting the manufacturer of your computer. My computer was a Dell and they were a lot more helpful. Yes, you are correct, even going back to Windows 10 the problem returned within a month. Dell allowed me to return my computer and they sent me a new one with Windows 11 already installed. So far, so good!

    So far I haven't stumbled on the upgrade that solves the issue. Windows update says I am up to date, but I remain unconvinced.

    Also... it seems the issue has returned within Windows 10.

    I first noticed the delay issues within Powerpoint, but it effected any file format being played using any audio program, even on-line videos. I spent several months with MS tech support to get PowerPoint to work. I don’t suggest you go down that rabbit hole. The problem is bigger than that. Several people on this chat have stated that the audio delay problem has been resolved with the latest update. Check to see what they have done.
