I have an Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner that I can't get to run on Windows 11. I did an install with the disk that came with the scanner, then downloaded the latest driver update from Epson, but when I try to run it, I get a message saying "Can't communicate with scanner." Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I really need to use this scanner.

I also have stopped having Epson scanner issues for the last year. I have had other glitchy issues however that they seem to fix. Overall, as a strong Windows supporter I honestly feel that Win 11 was released before it was ready, and I still feel that it is glitchy. We stopped converting half of our computers to Win 11 for now. I also really hate the new Win 11 start; it is as bad as the Win 8 one.
I am confident that Win 12 will be better (I hope).
I fixed the problem. I have the Epson ES-400 scanner. It worked fine on Windows 10 but stopped working when I updated my computer and went to Windows 11. Calling Epson was no help. I found that be changing the data cable to the newer faster USB 3.0A to USB 3B cable made the Scanner work just fine. The USB 3.0 B connector looks different but fits fine. I understand there are 9 wires instead of 4 wires in the cable. Windows 11 was not the issue. It was an easy fix, but nobody recommended it.

I wonder if changing from the Scanner's original Printer cable (USB-2.0 B) to a USB-C cable connector would help? Every time I use my scanner I need to use a USB-A to USB-C connector adaptor.

I have an Epson 4490 scanner that wouldn't communicate with the PC and the scanner software was missing buttons and no scan preview. I changed out the original USB cable with a new updated cable. Solved the communication issue. Opening the software and hitting the Alt key will make the missing buttons appear. Go to Configuration > Other > Reset will fix the missing preview window. Hope this helps.
Bought a new cable, which in of itself didn't seem to make any difference, but then resetting the configuration amd hitting the Alt key, did finally show the missing buttons. Thanks.
