Scanner won't run on Windows 11

I have an Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner that I can't get to run on Windows 11. I did an install with the disk that came with the scanner, then downloaded the latest driver update from Epson, but when I try to run it, I get a message saying "Can't communicate with scanner." Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I really need to use this scanner.

I am in the same situation. I have that driver and it works if you press the alt key. Maybe I am being too picky but I am not happy with Epson. They have updated Windows 11 drivers for newer models and business scanners but have not fixed the driver for these older scanners. I do not write code but I can't imagine that it would be too hard to fix this driver when it already mainly works and only needs a tweek to display the preview dialog.

Epson V500 is such a good scanner. Works with Win 10 like a charm, would be just so stupid and environmentally hostile to throw it away just because the producer tries to sell some new scanners by not updating the drivers for older hardware that works just fine. It is not ethical.

Same here, no Win 11 drivers for my 4990 pro. The "ALT" key will bring up the scan buttons, and it still scans same as always.

Epson says on their website that there will not be a Win 11 driver for my scanner, and I suspect this is the case for everyone else here.

So, the options are either put up with the minor annoyance of having to press the "ALT" key, or purchase their latest expensive scanner that will do exactly what my current scanner does.

Vote with your pocket book - when you do need or want a new scanner, buy it from another vendor, and send Epson an email or make a phone call and tell them what you bought, and why you didn't buy it from Epson.

As I commented in a recent Reply--Don't remember exactly what I did but my V600 scanner is working OK with win11. That is, nothing more than turning it on is required. However, Epson hasn't done much for it's reputation by not providing an update to take care of all the various complaints relative to the scanner marriage with win11. Why buy a product that might become useless or obsolete with the next upgrade of windows
