Scanner won't run on Windows 11

I have an Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner that I can't get to run on Windows 11. I did an install with the disk that came with the scanner, then downloaded the latest driver update from Epson, but when I try to run it, I get a message saying "Can't communicate with scanner." Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I really need to use this scanner.

I ended up having to completely uninstall the software for ES-400 and then the software for my printer. Then I restarted the computer, made sure that all information about either device was completely removed from my system, registry, everything. Then I got it to work by doing a new install and then blocking the pc from getting on the internet and then installed the ES-400 scanner completely. After I had made sure it worked, and that it couldn't update without my permission, I then installed the printer and blocked it from automatically updating.

I also created a restore point and I will continue to keep the auto update turned off because I believe that Epson would intentionally update it so that it wouldn't work in the future.

Actually, when I bought my v600 and tried to install, I kept getting errors that cpu couldn't see. Running Windows 10. The web is FULL of hundreds of similar complaints to what y'all are seeing with Windows 11. Epson support was not helpful. Most of us ended up returning the scanners.

All this is fine but nothing seems to install the application to run the scanner, just the setup.
