I have an Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner that I can't get to run on Windows 11. I did an install with the disk that came with the scanner, then downloaded the latest driver update from Epson, but when I try to run it, I get a message saying "Can't communicate with scanner." Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I really need to use this scanner.

    Hello,

I have a new computer with Windows 11

my old computer was windows 10

my Epson Perfection 1670 scanner worked well on windows 10 but I cannot get it to work on Windows 11.

It's as if Microsoft & Epson have abandoned me.

I have spent about 6 hours total trying different drivers starting with Epson & also waiting for windows to find a driver & restarting the computer & installing software first, but I cannot get the scanner to work.

To replace the scanner with a latest equivalent is about $1500 so not keen to do that when the old 1670 scanner is working.

    Please help me.

    Thanking You,

    Stephen B

I just did a clean re-install of Windows11 and downloaded the latest Epson Scan software. Now my Epson Perfection V600 Photo works like a charm.

Here is the simple solution that worked for me. I had an Epson ES-400 scanner that worked with windows 10. When I switched to windows 11 the driver would not install properly. I got no help by calling Epson. The solution for me was to replace the USB cable that came with the scanner. The original cable was a USB type A to USB type B cable. I replaced ii with a USB A to USB 3.0 Type-B cable and it worked. All the new Epson ES-400 scanners come with the newer higher speed cables. Amazon sells the 6-foot cable for about $6.00. The connector that USB connector that goes into the scanner is a different shape, but it fits fine. My scanner works fine now. I haven't seen this solution anywhere on the internet and never got it from Epson. I do plan to let Epson know so they can help other people. Hope this works for you.

That worked for my V600. Question then is, does it work for the V850 Pro also?

I have replaced a Canon MG250 series Printer (brand new) with the same model using Windows 11 Pro but I cannot get my scanner working? Anyone got a solution? I had Windows 10 Pro on the older version printer.
