Scanner won't run on Windows 11

I have an Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner that I can't get to run on Windows 11. I did an install with the disk that came with the scanner, then downloaded the latest driver update from Epson, but when I try to run it, I get a message saying "Can't communicate with scanner." Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I really need to use this scanner.

    Dear m dubin,

thank you very much. Simple and effective. Your suggestion works!!!

As you said, it's time MS and Epson wake up and find a permanent solution.

    Regards

I've finally solved the problem. I bought a used HP computer running Windows XP and a used Canon flatbed scanner that will run on XP. No internet, but at least I have a working scanner now.

An adder--just downloaded and installed the latest driver ,ver 3.9.3.1. Shut scanner off---put it back on and it was OK. That is nothing new--time will tell if if the latest driver actually fixes the recognition problem

I've been downloading driver 3.9.3.1 since November.

It's a mixed bag, apparently with different solutions in getting the scanner recognized with win 11. The latest success for me (just now) was just to have the scanner on and to reboot the computer. Hopefully, either Epson or MS, will come up with a solution to the non-recognizing pain in the ****.
