My new Dell XPS13 is running windows 11 and my original scanner hardware worked Ok once installed from the provided CD, but I noticed that both the preview and scan icons are not visible, but become visible and function properly, once I click in the space where I know they are hidden in the menu. Should I still try to install the new software that Carlo TJ has suggested?
Scanner won't run on Windows 11
I have an Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner that I can't get to run on Windows 11. I did an install with the disk that came with the scanner, then downloaded the latest driver update from Epson, but when I try to run it, I get a message saying "Can't communicate with scanner." Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I really need to use this scanner.

2022-05-12T18:09:16+00:00 Here's the workaround I use, and it works consistently.
- Turn on the scanner, let it fully start
Create a batch file ex: scanner_restart.cmd or scanner_restart.bat with the following inside
net stop StiSvc
net start StiSvc
- Run the batch file as admin
You can also create a shortcut of the batch file, go to properties of the shortcut, advanced, check run as admin for less clicking.
- The scanner app should work, at least for my Epson ES-400.

2022-05-12T18:07:40+00:00 Me too. Like you I have to keep deleting them reinstalling. I have an older ((2012) laptop running Windows 2 which has no problems operating the printer/scanner. Problem is it takes about ten minutes now to boot up.

2022-05-12T17:52:31+00:00 I wished I stayed on Windows 10 too. Microsoft is not being responsible for making Windows 11 available. I think these are very basic functions that should have been tested before Windows 11 was released. Not only do all my 3 Fujitsu scanner not work. My Epson ET series printer also refused to work. Yes, if you uninstall and reinstall the drivers, it will work... then PACMAN comes along and apparently starts messing around with the drivers and then you go back to square one.
