Scanner won't run on Windows 11

I have an Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner that I can't get to run on Windows 11. I did an install with the disk that came with the scanner, then downloaded the latest driver update from Epson, but when I try to run it, I get a message saying "Can't communicate with scanner." Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I really need to use this scanner.

Sighs. If I had known this, I would have kept Windows 10 and I will be warning others. My V500 does work with the Windows 11 super-primitive scanning software. I'm going to have to do a lot more work in Photoshop and I haven't tried scanning transparencies yet. This sucks.

I too have an Epson Perfection V500 and have just switched to Windows 11. I called Epson because the scanner worked fine before the switch Now it starts with "auto" in the mode box. they said I first have to change the to my desired mode, and if a window opened showing my selection, I should then press the ALT key once. and wait a few seconds. It worked, but I have to go through the process every time I start the Epson software. Hope this helps some of you. Before pressing the ALT key, the window did not have the PREVIEW or SCAN buttons at the bottom. Afterwords, it looked just like the window on my windows 10 machine.

For Windows 11 change the "Epson Scanner Service" from "Automatic" to "Manual" Startup type and make sure the

"Windows Imaging Acquisition" service is at the default "Manual" (Trigger Start) setting.

I have the same problem with my V850 Pro. Works a day or two in a row and then when I open it says can't communicate with the scanner. Very annoying! Then I have to download/install the same driver every time I want to use the scanner
