Sighs. If I had known this, I would have kept Windows 10 and I will be warning others. My V500 does work with the Windows 11 super-primitive scanning software. I'm going to have to do a lot more work in Photoshop and I haven't tried scanning transparencies yet. This sucks.
I too have an Epson Perfection V500 and have just switched to Windows 11. I called Epson because the scanner worked fine before the switch Now it starts with "auto" in the mode box. they said I first have to change the to my desired mode, and if a window opened showing my selection, I should then press the ALT key once. and wait a few seconds. It worked, but I have to go through the process every time I start the Epson software. Hope this helps some of you. Before pressing the ALT key, the window did not have the PREVIEW or SCAN buttons at the bottom. Afterwords, it looked just like the window on my windows 10 machine.
