Scanner won't run on Windows 11

I read and followed the following steps below (I have win 11). Even though my settings were essentially the same, I just deleted and reentered them. So far, and I've exercised the scanner many times, it is now working as it did in the past---on a different computer with win 10--now using win 11

I have the same problem with my V850 Pro. Works a day or two in a row and then when I open it says can't communicate with the scanner. Very annoying! Then I have to download/install the same driver every time I want to use the scanner

Follow these steps:

1. Right-click on the Epson Scan icon on the desktop, then click Properties.

2)  Go to Compatibility tab. If the check box next to Run this program in compatibility mode for, uncheck it. Then click the OK button. 

3. On your keyboard, press Windows logo key  and R key at the same time to invoke the Run box.
4. Type services.msc and click the OK button to open the Services window: 

5. Right click Windows Image Acquisition (WIA),****then click Properties.

6. Make sure Startup type is set to Automatic and the Service status to Running, the click Apply > OK.

7. Check to see if you scanner works

Update Scanner Drivers

I opened the Microsoft printer scanner app that apparently was installed during the Windows 11 install. (My HP3050 printer showed up but not the scanner).

I opened the Windows Fax and Scan app (searched for scanner on my computer), clicked New Scan (upper left in blue), then clicked scan at the bottom left. Maybe since I had used my printer, it recognized that there was something there....voila...it scanned. My printer is super old and it seems there are not any drivers to add. Hope this helps someone else.

Thanks everyone for your continuing contributions to this thread. I have had the current driver v3.9.3.1 for my v600 since it was released 11/1/2021. The v600 is still on the market. It was a great scanner for me before Windows 11. I've attempted everything posted here. I've spent hours on the phone with MS support. One tech tried several methods, and finally had me go to the command line and input several commands to no avail. He did find one set of commands that he walked me through that he said would fix the problem permanently. After restarting, the scanner worked fine. For a day. I am in the middle of scanning a large collection of family photos. I've been spending way too much time getting the scanner up and running. My laptop came with Windows 11 and it's past the time I can rollback. I am considering wiping the drive and performing a clean install of 10. I will also try the steps outlined by Ashish above.

I struggled for a few days with my Epson ET-2760 no longer working (scanning). It worked with no problems for a couple of months, but then one day MS did one of it's auto-updates on me and then "Can't find device " type of error message was displayed. Long story, short, I went to the Epson Scan launcher program, right clicked on properties and selected Compatibility Troubleshooting selection. It did find my printer/scanner, launched the program and I was able to scan using my Epson Scan 2 software. I answered "Yes" that the troubleshooting fixed the problem, and "it" saved the settings. I powered down the computer, waited about a minute and started it back up. Selected my Epson Scan 2 software app and it came right up.

I haven't tried a couple of other apps that using scanning, Readiris 17, Adobe Photoshop, etc.

Now to try and find something for my olde HP psc 2110V printer/scanner! It still prints, so why trash it?
