Random Mouse Stutter/Lag Windows 11

I have the same issues with mouse lag/stutter keyboard lock and in addition I have my windows fan or disk drive spin up every time this is occurring.

The machine is dead quiet until I get the lag.

I have tried all of the above and will continue to monitor the problem, but this has been going on for months since I upgraded to Windows 11.

I can only imagine what will happen when we hit the magic Windows 13.

POSSIBLE ISSUE BYPASS/FIX

I bought the following Mouse thinking that a gaming mouse with a dongle used might be different enough to not have the "Jiggle Virus"?

I have been using it since 5/12/22 and no jittering at all. I occasionally will use my Microsoft Surface Precision Mouse and it still jitters. I go back to the Razer Mouse and NO issues.

I will let you all know if the jiggle starts up.

This mouse isn't cheap; but if it permanently stops the jiggles and the related frustration... $89 is worth it.

Actually, I found that by using a true Bluetooth mouse, instead of a wireless that uses a USB dongle, everything is fine. It seems the USB port connection simply isn't stable.

I wish it were that way for me. I have used a Microsoft precision mouse which is Bluetooth and a couple others that are Bluetooth and I have the same problem all the time.

The reason I went to this gaming mouse and use the dongle was to see if I could get anything to work and it did. I have had absolutely no jitter with my mouse at all with the gaming mouse. I will at times turn on the Bluetooth mouse that I have and it goes right back to jittering. Turn the Bluetooth mouse off and the dongle mouse works perfectly.

I feel fairly certain that there are a large number of people that have this problem, but statistically it may not be that great based on all the windows users. So therefore I assume many have no problem with jitter. But it seems a good number of people do.

What Bluetooth mouse are you using with your system? Have you ever encountered this problem at all? If you haven't maybe you're one of the lucky many.

I found a related solution on my Win11 desktop with a brand new (but jittery) Logitech wireless mouse. Actually, I had the same skip/jitter problem with a low-cost Amazon-purchased mouse, and with a years-old Logitech mouse or two.

I clued in, not by buying an expensive mouse as drol1950 did, but by noticing that my mouse pointer on-screen would freeze when the physical mouse was pointing toward the right back corner of my (physical) desk. When aimed toward the left back corner, the mouse was jitter-free and responsive. I use a mouse with either hand, and the tipoff was the way it would jitter and freeze when I used my left hand but less when I used my right.

Aha!! It worked smoothly when the physical mouse was pointing *toward the dongle*! Well, not quite. The wireless dongle was on the back of my computer box, which was *under* my desk and toward the left back corner. Straight-line distance from dongle to mouse was only two feet, but the signal had to pass through the metal computer case and a desk drawer of solid oak on its way to the mouse.

I switched the mouse dongle to the *front* of my computer box. Problem solved -- smoothest mouse you ever saw.
