Random Mouse Stutter/Lag Windows 11

This was with me on Windows 10 and my older HP PC... and now I have a new HP PC (Loaded) and Windows 11... and yes, the problem is still with me.

I am having what I believe to be the same problem. Frequently when I left click my mouse I get a stream of mouse events. I have not yet been able to capture this stream but it really makes a mess of things when I'm working in applications like excel.

The problem is very apparent when I play windows solitaire. The cards will move all over the place and not drag properly.

I have tried removing and reinstalling the mouse driver. I have tried downgrading the mouse driver.

I am on a reasonably new HP pavilion desktop. Currently running windows 11.

I have the same issue, although it doesn't restrict itself to office apps. I never had this problem with Windows 10 using exactly the same hardware and software install (drivers, may be newer though).

For me, and what is more frustrating, is that my keyboard locks up intermittently. Sometimes it will lock up for a second or two and then catch up, but other times, it just stops responding for 10 seconds or more and all input is lost. Nothing works with the keyboard when this happens but the mouse still does, so the receiver itself is working fine. It doesn't appear to be an issue with the keyboard. Both the mouse and keyboard are Logitech and both are using the same receiver, so I don't think it is a Logitech problem either.

Something about Windows 11 is behaving differently from Windows 10 (with regard to stutter/lag), but tracking this down the root cause has not been easy. One difference in Win11 configuration vs my previous Win10 is that I am using Edge as my primary browser. I disabled running background apps when Edge is closed and that helped a little, but the problem persists.

Maybe go back to my previous browser instead of Edge?

i bought an asus laptop with windows 10. it offered a windows 11 upgrade so i did that. i also have office365 installed.

the mouse icon seems to glitch within a few minutes of using office. the arrow just turns super fuzzy, probably a sign it's a graphics glitch. there is some lag too.

i already had deselected the linkedin option in office so that doesnt seem to be causing my issue.

the advice by Claudier seems like a bit of a lengthy path for me. can anyone advise if that worked for them? honestly, i can do all that but not real stoked to try and fix a glitch that seems to be the responsibility of windows to fix.

i guess i can revert to windows 10. or just return this new laptop and go a different path. wish there was a simple fix for a busy, non-guru type like myself. seems like whenever i try to fix things it seems to just waste time.

I bought a pc that came with windows 11 pre installed. today. same issue, its a pre built gaming pc so to say this isnt just windows 11 being bad I think is just conveniently skipping around the point
