When I go to the "remove pin", the button is grayed out. I contacted HP tech support & they said that's a software issue. I was able to turn it off in Win 10, but when I rec'd my new laptop that was supposed to have Win 10 installed, it turned out to be Win 11. Anyone have a fix?

MS keeps saying they want to make their OS user friendly. So, why the heck can't they make it easy to turn of/on requirement for a PIN entry to get onto my Surface tablet?

It's sort of a no-brainer. Heck, even my ancient Android tablet lets me do it with a few clicks !!!

It seems that every time they update their OS, things get more complicated, and we have less control and less options. I DO NOT consider any of that 'user friendly'.

    Hello Paloma,

I have similar situation. I just get a new computer with Win 11 21H2 installed (OEM). I want to use only my Windows Account password, no PIN, no face recgonition, but the login still asking me to create a face "Hello, and if I choose to skip it, Win 11 ask me to create a PIN, so I close that window and I can finilly login, but on next login, everthing comes back.

I try what you propose above, but I couldn't find the item 4 - "Require Windows Hello Sign In for Microsoft Accounts"

    Thank you in advance.

    Regards,

    Guy

Apparently if you turn off the PIN, you have to use a password. I, like others, dont want to use either. I dont want it because my desktop is not being used by anyone but myself. My husband has his own, and if the grandkids and kids come, they all have laptops. I hate that I have to keep using a PIN or password to log in every morning. How do we turn it off where we dont need either one of those?

The remove button is greyed out for me so I can't remove the PIN.

Correct... even after the Hello Sign-in... the Remove button is still grayed out under the PIN option. It does not appear there is a way to disable the PIN. This is ridiculous to say the least.
