When I go to the "remove pin", the button is grayed out. I contacted HP tech support & they said that's a software issue. I was able to turn it off in Win 10, but when I rec'd my new laptop that was supposed to have Win 10 installed, it turned out to be Win 11. Anyone have a fix?

    Hello, how are you?
    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

    My name is Paloma B., I'm an independent advisor, I'm here to help you in the best possible way.

    I understand that you would like to remove your Windows entry PIN.

    Please follow the procedure below to remove it.

    1. Press Windows+I to open the Configure window;
    2. Select the option Accounts;
    3. Select in the left column the option "Input Options";

    As you can see there is no left column or indication of where to find that "Input options" . Once you update this let me know.

    1. In the window on the right, scroll down to the option "Require Windows Hello Sign In for Microsoft Accounts" and set the button to "Disabled";
    2. Go up to the option "Windows Hello PIN", click "Remove", and confirm once more;
    3. Enter your Microsoft account password in the next window and confirm.

    I await news.

    Win+R > netplwiz > uncheck “users must enter a user name and password to use this computer” > enter name and PW (twice) worked fine for me to avoid having to enter the PIN each time.

    I know it is possible for Win 11 to restart without requiring a PIN. I haven't figured out how to do it on my new Win 11 graphics workstation, but when I upgraded my Win 10 laptop – which was set up to not require a PIN or PW on reboot – to Win 11, it still doesn't require a PW or PIN on reboot.
