When I go to the "remove pin", the button is grayed out. I contacted HP tech support & they said that's a software issue. I was able to turn it off in Win 10, but when I rec'd my new laptop that was supposed to have Win 10 installed, it turned out to be Win 11. Anyone have a fix?

Hi, I am unable to login to windows. After a bios update, the machine reset the PIN login. After inputting username and password, it then requires that you input a verification code sent via email. NO CODE IS SENT. No code continues to be sent. Even selecting to cancel a request, you must verify with A CODE which never gets sent. UNABLE TO ACCESS COMPUTER. PLEASE HELP!

From this link, you can shut it off completely by modifying the registry. I just did it, put the computer to sleep, and it wakes back up right where it was.

So in the registry editor, go to:

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Settings\AllowSignInOptions

    Set the 'value' to zero.

    Best, Dan.

Just setting - account - your info - sign in with local account instead

    Then type new username

    And leave the password blank....

    I had same issue,

go to setting/accounts/access work or school
then disconnect all the accounts from work or school accountscheck whether the remove pin button still grey out or activated
    go to setting/accounts/sign in option
Disable **For improved security, only allow windows hello sign in for microsoft accounts on this device.**Restart you PC

again check whether the remove pin button still grey out or activated
if not then try to restart the pc
