Random keys act like they're stuck even though they're physically not

I aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalso have the same issue (a common example there). Windows 11, Surface Studio Laptop, on any external keybbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbboard. Did not happen prior to Januarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry 2023. So frustrating!

I'm using an Apple Magic Keyboard on my Desktop Windows 11 and seeing this issue, it is most likely the sticky keys feature , since i turned it once and ever since i see this behavior

I'm not sure what triggers it, but it's only modifyers keys like shift, alt and windows nowadays (when i had windows 10 it happened with letters and numbers too) .

I say it's the sticky keys feature because a new account does not have this issue, but using my main microsoft account does and the behavior matches the feature that sticky keys offer to force modifier keys to act as holded, do not turn this feature. If you do you'll see this issue. In fact do not enable anything on sticky keys, it just plains sucks.

There is no solution, even if you fix it it will come back, i have struggle with this for years, just reboot if it's too bad or tap the key a bunch of times until the behavior is gone.

I have the same problem. Idk how to fix it and it's very annoying. Only happens when I am entering my pin but I always use my pin and don't try my Micro pass on windows 11. My motherboard and CPU came from an ASUS prebuilt its not a laptop. Ryzen 5, 32g, RTX 3090. As you said virtual keyboard does it even when I disconnect my old physical dell keyboard.

Some other things notable:

I have a chrome remote desktop.

I have a ton of USB 3.0 external drives.

I have a USB DAC.

I have an older Logitech mouse and the newer racing wheel but I have also tried isolating these.

The system is normally very stable and I keep it on for mining in the winter sometimes 72+ hours at a time.

I have the exact same problem since day one, I mean Windows 11 was already installed. Everytime I'm using word or the search bar on google chrome, or basically about anytime I am using the keyboard I get random errors with any key I press. I've been trying to count the errors and find a pattern, but the only thing I've noticed so far is that when it happens it clicks +8 to 16 times the same last letterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr (that's an example). By the way, I did not type that on purpose, it just happened, and continues to happen randomly at any given time, usually 2 or 3 times during the next minutes, then it disappears for a while and again randomly reappears. I've been trying to give it a failure name so more people can relate to this problem and I came up with the following names and searches:

• stuck key
• stuck pressing a random key
• key processed many times
• crazy keyboard pressing letter many times
• keyboard repeating keys
• fix repeated keystrokes
• Keyboard Types Multiple Letters

So, the best solution I could find so far, which is not a real solution, but a way to bypass the problem is to Change the Keyboard Repeat Delay.

To do so, follow these steps to delay the time between repeated keystrokes

1. In the Start menu search bar, search for control panel and select the Best match.
2. Go to the View by menu and select Large icons or Small icons.
3. Select Keyboard to access its properties.
4. Here you can reduce Repeat Delay and the Repeat Rate until you feel the problem has been solved.
5. Click Apply > OK to save the new settings.

Nevertheless, I don't think this is the right way to solve this problem, and MSI (that's my PC brand) or Microsoft should come up with a fix or patch to have this solved once and for all.

Same, just happened recently ... at first I thought It was a water spill, but its all the keys on the keyboard that bug out randomly. Today is the shift button and number keys.
