Our church replaced the laptop that is used to host Zoom meetings for our church services. With the new computer, speech comes across fine, but music (organ, singing, etc) is completely suppressed. Group prayers (multiple people speaking at once) are also suppressed. The new computer is an Acer Aspire, with Windows 11. Our old computer ran Windows 10.
When we watch the input bar in the audio settings in Zoom, it drops to nothing when music starts up, which makes me think that the issue is happening before it gets to Zoom
I've read that there is a new feature in Microsoft Teams that suppresses sounds it does not consider to be speech -- I wonder if this is related to our problem somehow?

Hi, i just changed my laptop to a brand new home computer with windows 11. Like a lot of folks here I have a problem with recording music, and not only with Zoom. Voice recording is doing well but it's impossible to record music on any device, Zoom, Bandlab or what so ever.
Does anyone has the solution ? microsoft doesn't seem to be bothered and there's no response from the seller.
I tried all the suggestions in this thread, e.g. turning off noise suppression in the app, updating Zoom and audio drivers, but that didn't fix it.
I had to downgrade to Windows 10 to make the noise suppression turn off - but that's not a simple solution. If you're going to try it, make sure all your data are backed up, and make a note of all user accounts and passwords, such as your login details for this forum, and other online accountss.
I am so sorry that none of this worked for you. It was frustrating for me for months. I lost income due to the problem. When Zoom put out their latest version with "original sound for musicians" the problem was fixed for me and I have had no problems since. The new original sound setting for Zoom turns off all noise cancellation. But before that version was released, killing the B&O app also fixed the problem.
I do not know about Bandlab, but I am able to record on Zoom. Be sure that you are using the latest version of Zoom. "Original Sound" has been replaced with "Original Sound for Muscians" which diables all noise suppression. If you have the Bang&Olefsen app, open it and toggle the AI Nose Suppression to OFF. If that does not work, open the app and hit ALT + F4 to kill the app (that worked for me prior to the Zoom update). Also be sure that the correct input and output sound setting are correct. I believe that Array should be selected.
I can't find this setting in window 11 as of 12/19/2022. Any idea where it is in this update?
