Music suppressed in Zoom on Windows 11
Our church replaced the laptop that is used to host Zoom meetings for our church services. With the new computer, speech comes across fine, but music (organ, singing, etc) is completely suppressed. Group prayers (multiple people speaking at once) are also suppressed. The new computer is an Acer Aspire, with Windows 11. Our old computer ran Windows 10.
When we watch the input bar in the audio settings in Zoom, it drops to nothing when music starts up, which makes me think that the issue is happening before it gets to Zoom
I've read that there is a new feature in Microsoft Teams that suppresses sounds it does not consider to be speech -- I wonder if this is related to our problem somehow?

2022-11-02T22:53:07+00:00 I have been working with the Zoom Dev Team for months. Here is where I am and have just this week been able to have a satisfactory lesson online. I no longer have to use an external mic or external sound card. I am able to use my Yeti Blue external mic if I want to.
First, be sure you have the latest version of Zoom -- It has Original Sound for Musicians option. Turn Original Sound for Musicians to ON. Test your mic and see if that fixes your problem.
If not:
Within the HP Envy laptop/Windows 11 software, there is an app called Bang and Olefsen that runs some of the sound system.
Go to your start menu and open the B&O app. If you are able, go to the Noise Cancellation tab. Turn AI Noise Removal "OFF".
Test your mic in zoom to see if your instrument can be heard.
If not:
Open the the B&O app and hit ALT+F4 to kill the B&O app. Test your mic in Zoom to see if your instrument can be heard.

2022-11-16T18:01:15+00:00 I have been following this thread for a couple of months now.
My problem is not just on Zoom. here is my issue and I am wondering why this happens on this new computer
- I can't use SKype for my music lessons, voice is fine, but my instrument is not heard on the remote end.
- So went to the next level of testing - tried to record from my system using MS Sound Recorder - it records voice, but not the instrument. it can't be hardware issue if some sound is being recorded.
- I tried zoom and google too and still the same.
voice goes through fine (recording, or communication via a meeting app) but the instrument sound does not go through. Hoping someone here has encountered this and found a solution. thanks in Advance.

2022-11-16T18:25:38+00:00 I did not have a problem with my instrument on any platform except for zoom or on the internal recording for my computer. Zoom has updated their app to include the ability to turn off noise suppression so that instruments can be heard. Be sure you have updated to the latest version of Zoom. Open the app and go to the audio settings. Be sure that "show original sound" is checked. Go back to your in meeting screen and hover the mouse in the upper left corner and be sure that "original sound for musicians" is ON. If you still have a problem and your computer has Bang & Olefsen sound, open the B&O app and go to the noise suppression tab and turn off AI Noise Reduction. If you are unable to turn it off, with the app open, click ALT+F4 to diable the app. I have not had any more problems since the Zoom app was updated for musicians.
